| Description The deeds registry is open to any member of the public to access information. DeedsWeb users can obtain the following information from the website: - Information relating to the registration of immovable property, such as:
- names, identity particulars and marital status of registered owners
- interdict references against persons and property
- particulars of property transfers, including dates of registration and purchase prices
- particulars of mortgage bonds, including the names of mortgagees and the capital amounts
- Electronic (PDF format) copies of scanned and microfilmed deeds and documents.
To access these features, you must be a registered DeedsWeb subscriber as prescribed fees are charged. A selection list of possible actions appears on the web page.
- Select "Register as a new user" by clicking on the option.
- A new page containing terms and conditions and FICA Act requirements will be displayed. These terms and conditions must be accepted before proceeding to the next stage of registration.
- One you have accepted and agreed to the terms and conditions, a new page containing the registration form will open on your screen.
- Complete the registration form online.
- Click on "Submit your application" once you are satisfied that you have completed the form correctly.
- A user name will be allocated to you. This will be your account number for all financial purposes. You will also be provided with a password (i.e. the word password) which you must change as soon as possible afterwards.
- Pay the registration fee and submit the FICA Act documents to the office of the Chief Registrar of Deeds. Banking instructions and particulars appear on the website.
- Once you have deposited the registration fee into the bank account of the Chief Registrar of Deeds and provided the FICA Act documents, telephone the Office of the Chief Registrar to notify them that you have paid and submitted the necessary documents. The contact number is provided on the website.

- The Office of the Chief Registrar will activate your account and you will then be able to access information from the website.
- At the end of each month you will receive a statement. This statement is also accessible on the website to enable you to review the charges and to remind you to pay the account.

- Search: For the supply of registration information in respect of a series of properties: R600,00 for every 100 properties or part thereof plus an administration cost of R200,00
- Search: For the supply of an alphabetical list, in electronic format, containing the names of all the townships, or sectional title schemes, or allotment areas, or agricultural holdings, or farms, in a registration office: R150 per list
