All motor vehicles operating on South African public roads must be registered. It is the responsibility of the title holder to register the vehicle.

Complete an Application and Notice in respect of Registration and Licensing of a Motor Vehicle at your nearest registering authority.
Submit the following documents:
- your identity document
- proof of ownership of the vehicle
- a roadworthy certificate (if the vehicle is used or a Road Transport Quality System vehicle)
- manufacturer’s certificate or previous registration certificate or affidavit if registration certificate cannot be provided.

The application is processed on the same day.

Application and Notice in Respect of Registration and Licensing of a Motor Vehicle is available from registering authorities.
